The Cotswold Cup

Busy weekend for the team at Barbury for the Cotswold Cup. A great run from Olivia Ashfield’s Coolodge Mick to finish 2nd. It was a lovely event and great job by the organisers to include such an iconic venue in their series.

Barbury International

A great couple of days for the team at Barbury International Horse Trials.
First up was KEC Delicate Girl, who did a lovely test, an unlucky pole and then flew cross country!
Piccolo V was in the IN ahead of stepping up at Upton this week and was solid in all three phases, feeling in really good form.
Hazard Z was very assured to record a lovely double clear for 10th place.
Milchem Sea Breeze posted a great clear showjumping and was flying in the early stages of the cross country, but losing 2 wheels on the way round no doubt added to a momentary loss of focus coming out of the sunken road but otherwise a great outing for her.

Oxstalls

Great to be out competing and pleased to report I’m in one piece!
Lecarrow Watermill loved being allowed out to a party! She popped round the 100 like the pro she is, for 31 double clear and finished with a ribbon.
I deputised for Olivia Ashfield on Coolodge Mick to finish 8th in the 90. Then young horse
Molly did a sweet test, lovely SJ, but a bit rusty after a long break xc to keep her out of the placings. Thank you for a beautifully organised Cotswold Cup event.

Back on Board, Relay Training and Dragon Fly meets Belle.

Belle flying at interhunt relay practice for the @vineandcraven - all set for @barburyht.

Little Dragonfly growing up fast! Belle met him over the fence today - he is her son by embryo transfer, sired by Sir Shutterfly. He had a busy day, as there were also 3 geese in his field, which he wasn’t too sure about.

A pause in competing

It’s a hard life when your jockey is on the injury list…..I took a bit of a tumble off a young horse two weeks ago and it’s taking longer than planned to be back on board, but hopefully I will be good to go by the end of this month.

Until then, I’m so lucky to have amazing support to keep the horses ticking over and everything under control

Aston Le Walls (2)

Horses in great form at Aston le Walls today. Huge congratulations to the Aston team for running the Novice sections in such amazingly good conditions after nearly a full week of competition.
Piccolo V was loving life (a little too much in one extended canter in the dressage) and jumped an easy double clear for 5th.
KEC Delicate Girl is really beginning to look established at Novice, jumping a lovely clear in the showjumping and coping really well with the conditions to come home inside the time cross country for 7th.

Cirencester Park

Both horses putting in great performances at Cirencester Park Horse Trials over the weekend.

Piccolo V posted a double clear and KEC Delicate Girl just breathed on a pole in the showjumping, but was super and clear cross country.
No prizes this time, in really competitive sections but delighted with them both. Great event with fab going and the sun shone, happy eventing days.

Aston Le Walls

Good day at the office at Aston le Walls, with two in the novice class. Piccolo V was on flying form to jump a great double clear for 8th. Just a couple of mistakes in his test keeping him out of the top placings. But no flower monsters today!

KED Delicate Girl did a lovely test for 28. Still a little ring rusty for a couple down in the showjumping, but very assured cross country to finish 11th.

Onto Cirencester and Swalcliff this weekend.
