We headed to Aston with KEC Delicate Girl (Delphi) for her first 3*S. Having had the mare from a 5YO and ridden her throughout her eventing career, it always nice when you reach these milestones and you feel the hard work paying off!
We had dressage on the Wednesday and she put in a very creditable performance. Lots of little areas for improvement and one proper mistake kept the mark from being where we’d like it but overall she coped really well.
Onto the jumping and she felt class in the showjumping just touching a pole down the final line. Followed up by a great cross-country clear. We didn’t trouble the leaders but we were all delighted with her.
We really appreciated the huge efforts made by Nigel and the whole Aston team -and great to jump on the amazing new surface.
